HOLLY FERRIE

My artwork is inspired by the beautiful East Lothian coastline and beyond. I feel a real sense of connection with the sea. It is a place for grounding and solitude.

My artwork reflects all the seasons; from moody and atmospheric scenes to joyful and colourful pieces where the colours dance around the canvas.

The palette knife allows me to create movement and texture on the canvas, whilst my brushes create a more softer appearance. I like to mix the two techniques to suit my style of painting.

Painting from memory is very important to me. Doing this means there are no limits on my creativity and my paintings are completely open to interpretation.
